Bulletproof Hot Chocolate

It’s almost Valentine’s day! You guys know I have an obsession with chocolate, so the holiday seemed like a perfect excuse to develop a decadent recipe.


This is one I will definitely share with my family. I want the people I love to eat healthy and this is a great gateway recipe. Who could say no to hot chocolate?! No one even has to know it’s paleo and so low in sugar! It tastes rich and amazing while also being extremely nutrient dense. The high fat content makes it blood sugar stabilizing, and you can adjust the sweetness of the drink as needed. I thought it was super satisfying with only 1 teaspoon of honey, which adds just 6 grams of carbohydrates!

Bulletproof Hot Chocolate

Easy, rich, and paleo, this simple drink serves as a great mid-afternoon or pre-workout snack. It is filled with healthy fats for steady energy and is packed with intense chocolate-y flavor and warm spicy undertones. A total crowd pleaser!


½ cup water

½ cup coconut cream

2 tablespoons cocoa powder

1 tablespoon grass-fed butter

1 tablespoon coconut oil

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 teaspoon honey

Pinch cinnamon

Pinch sea salt

Pinch instant coffee granules


Place water and coconut cream together in a large mug or bowl and microwave until boiling, about 2 minutes. Place boiling water and cream mixture into a blender with all remaining ingredients. Blend until combined, about 15 seconds. Makes 1 large or 2 small servings.
